Smtp port 587 not working

Nov 18, 2017 · If there was a way to specify TLS then 587 would work. It was working, just stopped. Mail just has an SSL option and not TLS. This is for my work smtp server which requires port 587

Thanks, yes, we have a static IP here at work. So, that's why our regular company email works fine on SMTP port 25 and does not at home on my residential FiOS. I will check with my admin to see if we can use a different port for company emails. If not, I will look into using my gmail outbound servers to send mail. Thanks everyone.

If you look at my account you'll see that the email account I set up with SMTP box1277.bluehost.com port 465 doesn't work. When I set this smtp up, it defaulted to port 587 and I ultimately needed to change it to the correct port 465.
